Are you aware:

1 That in the developing world, girls’ attendance at school is hindered because of a lack of sanitary protection and underwear during menstruation?

2. At wearing a bra in the developing world not only adds a layer of physical protection for girls but that they are also seen as more confident and therefore less likely to be victimized by males?

3. That wearing a wearing worn, ill-fitting clothing perpetuates vulnerability, low self-esteem and diminished hope so only new or gently used donated clothing is accepted for the girls and women.

The S.A.L.S.A group will be collecting donations from the listing below from now until Easter Sunday.  All clothing donations should be sized to fit girls’ ages 6 to 18 years; and made of sturdy, washable materials.   There will be a bin put on the edge of the stage each Sunday for collection.  If you are not able to get them to the church,  please contact Susan Jess at 905-846-8143.

  • New 100% Cotton Regular Underwear all sizes for girls and young women, sizes S/M/L
  • New Bras of any style, colour or size for girls and young women
  • Re-usable Sanitary Protection (Learn More)

A delegation from St. Andrew’s will be attending their annual dinner in Stratford on April 15th and will take the items then. You can also donate money to help pay for the shipping charges, as sending these items overseas can be costly. See Pam Loree, Susan Jess or Felicity Alexander if you’d like to donate money.

PRE-LENT EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

The leadership team has made the difficult decision to cancel this evening’s Pre-Lent Event.   With today’s snow and ice storm coming with the possibility of receiving a lot of snow accumulation, our members safety is our main concern.

Rev. Geoffrey M. Ross will still hold the Ash Wednesday service both in person and online.

In light of this decision, we will hold a Pancake lunch on Sunday, February 26th, 2023 following the morning service.

WE ARE STILL OPEN FOR SERVICES

We are still holding our Christmas Eve services this evening as scheduled.  Our Traditional service will be at 7:30pm – click here for this bulletin and our Candlelight and Communion service will be at 10:00 pm – click here for this bulletin.

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.  May your day be filled with peace, hope, joy and love.

Did you know we are celebrating 175 years?

These booklets will be available during our Anniversary Sunday Worship –  October 16th, 2022.  We hope to see you there so you can receive your copy of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Brampton’s history.

The 175th anniversary of St. Andrew’s Brampton will be commemorated with the publication of A Work of Faith, A Labour of Love. This booklet outlines the history of the congregation from its formation in 1847 when the first Presbyterian minister was called to Brampton. It tells about the ministers who have served here since then and includes descriptions of the interior of the current building. The author Mary M. (Molly) Harvey tells of the leaders and the programs that have shaped our history. The foreword was written by Minister Emeritus Rev. Rosemary Doran.
