St. Andrew’s has an active youth ministry for young people from grades 6-12.
Youth in grades 6 and up are invited to attend our Youth Sunday School class each Sunday morning in the Youth Lounge on the second floor.
Every month, we look at a new theme or story relevant to today’s young people, using music and video streamed from the RightNow Media website; snacks and lively conversation included.
Throughout each year, St. Andrew’s youth are encouraged to participate in the worship service, and are informed of the different opportunities available for high school youth within The Presbyterian Church in Canada:
- Many of our youth attend Cairn Camp, near Huntsville, as campers, volunteer as LITs (Leaders in Training), and may also work for pay as Camp Counselors.
- Youth in Mission, St. Andrew’s young people participate individually and as teams in mission across Canada and around the world (Habitat for Humanity, Winnipeg Inner City Missions)
- The Presbyterian Young People’s Society (PYPS) – There are three yearly retreats for young people within our Synod of Southwestern Ontario.
- National Presbyterian Youth Conference – Every second summer, hundreds of youth, young adults and youth leaders join together from across our denomination, and with guests from around the world to celebrate their vibrant faith. CY2018 continued that exciting tradition!
Canada Youth is our national Presbyterian youth conference in 2020.
Come see what’s happening this week!
High School Youth generally meet on Sundays (except holidays) from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the church for dinner and an activity.
